At the beginning of this semester, I was confident in my ability to interpret text and be an active reader. I quickly realized that there was more that I could improve on which is something that I always have to keep in mind. I will never hit a limit on what I can learn and what I am capable of improving on and it was a nice reminder to be able to experience the process of active reading in a different light. I will admit that there was a lot more effort that I could have put in, but overall, I am happy with my text analysis on my projects. I did most of my active reading during the process of writing in order to help make connections to the topics I wanted to write about instead of in the initial reading of the articles. In the future I would like to work on taking part in active reading during the initial reading of texts so that I can make bigger textual connections and not narrow down the subjects specifically to the topics I want to expand upon. I believe that my overall ability to actively read has improved greatly this semester and I look forward to improving more on future projects.
