Peer review is an extremely important part of any writing process and helps not only the writer, but the critic to improve upon their writing and the viewing of their piece. I value all peer review comments on my paper because it helps to have an outside opinion to walk you through the pros and cons of my paper, and because of that I try to make my comments on other peers’ papers as useful as I can. My goal is to provide a helpful but not overly critical look on works so that my peers can put their best work forward. Over the course of this semester, I have not been on top of the peer review sessions due to personal issues or technical issues, but when I was able to provide comments, I wanted to put a lot of effort and consideration into them. I can definitely work on a lot of areas when it comes to peer review, but more specifically I can work on analyzing their text more deeply and providing comments that can relate to their style of writing more than it relates to mine. I tend to review papers in a way that compliments my style of writing and my expectations, however, my style isn’t always correct so I should work on expanding my views on writing and my access to multiple different forms of writing.
